2019 Mazda CX-5 – A Stylish, Powerful and Premium SUV for Kenyan Roads
The 2019 Mazda CX-5 is one of the most refined and best-performing compact SUVs available in Kenya. Combining elegant styling, premium comfort, advanced technology and exceptional driving dynamics, the CX-5 has become a favourite among families, professionals and SUV enthusiasts looking for a vehicle that delivers luxury without compromising reliability. Whether you’re navigating the busy streets of Nairobi, commuting around Kisumu, travelling to Mombasa or exploring Kenya’s scenic countryside, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 offers an outstanding blend of comfort, performance and efficiency.
Built using Mazda’s award-winning KODO – Soul of Motion design philosophy, the 2019 CX-5 features sleek body lines, a bold front grille, LED lighting and a sophisticated appearance that rivals many premium European SUVs. Its elegant styling, combined with Mazda’s advanced SKYACTIV technology, makes it one of the most desirable SUVs in the Kenyan market.
Under the bonnet, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 is available with several engine options depending on the market and import specification. The most common models imported into Kenya is the highly efficient 2.2-litre SKYACTIV-D turbo diesel engine. All engines are paired with Mazda’s smooth 6-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission, delivering responsive acceleration, refined performance and impressive fuel economy. Depending on the trim level, the CX-5 is available in both Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and Mazda’s intelligent i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, providing excellent traction and confidence on varying road conditions.
One of the biggest reasons why the 2019 Mazda CX-5 is becoming increasingly popular in Kenya is its ability to combine sporty performance with everyday practicality. The powerful yet fuel-efficient engines provide smooth acceleration for city driving and effortless highway cruising, while the responsive steering and balanced suspension make every journey enjoyable. Whether you’re commuting daily or travelling across the country, the CX-5 delivers a refined driving experience that few competitors can match.
Inside, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 features a beautifully crafted cabin that reflects Mazda’s commitment to premium quality. Soft-touch materials, high-quality finishes and a clean, driver-focused dashboard create a luxurious atmosphere throughout the interior. The SUV comfortably seats five adults, offering generous legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers. The supportive seats provide exceptional comfort during long journeys, making the CX-5 ideal for family travel and business trips.
The spacious luggage compartment easily accommodates shopping, travel luggage, sports equipment and family belongings. The rear seats fold flat to create additional cargo space whenever larger items need to be transported, making the CX-5 highly versatile for everyday life.
Depending on the trim level and import specification, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 comes equipped with premium features including leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, multifunction leather steering wheel, power tailgate, electric sunroof, ambient interior lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite navigation and Mazda Connect infotainment system with a large touchscreen display. Higher-spec models also feature a premium BOSE surround sound system, wireless phone charging and a head-up display, providing an even more luxurious driving experience.
Safety is one of the strongest aspects of the 2019 Mazda CX-5. Most models are equipped with multiple airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist and Emergency Brake Assist. Many imported units also feature Mazda’s advanced i-ACTIVSENSE safety suite, which may include Smart City Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition, Automatic High Beam Control and a 360-degree camera system, depending on the vehicle specification. These intelligent technologies enhance driver confidence while providing excellent protection for all occupants.
On the road, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 delivers one of the best driving experiences in the compact SUV segment. Mazda’s SKYACTIV engineering provides responsive steering, confident cornering and excellent ride comfort. The suspension effectively absorbs potholes and uneven road surfaces commonly found on Kenyan roads while maintaining excellent stability at highway speeds. The quiet cabin and premium sound insulation further enhance passenger comfort, making long-distance journeys relaxing and enjoyable.
Another major advantage of owning a 2019 Mazda CX-5 in Kenya is its growing reputation for reliability and affordable maintenance. Genuine and aftermarket spare parts are becoming increasingly available across the country, while experienced Mazda technicians can be found in major towns and cities. The CX-5 also maintains strong resale value thanks to its attractive styling, dependable performance and increasing demand among Kenyan buyers.
The 2019 Mazda CX-5 is ideal for families looking for a spacious and comfortable SUV, professionals seeking a premium executive vehicle and adventure enthusiasts who enjoy weekend road trips. Its combination of elegant design, fuel efficiency, advanced safety features and enjoyable driving dynamics makes it one of the smartest SUV investments available in Kenya.
Overall, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 remains one of the best compact SUVs available in the Kenyan market. Its powerful SKYACTIV engine options, luxurious interior, advanced safety technologies, spacious cabin and stylish design make it an outstanding choice for long-term ownership. Whether you’re searching for a used Mazda CX-5 for sale in Kenya, a premium family SUV, a fuel-efficient crossover, a luxury compact SUV, or a reliable executive SUV, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 delivers exceptional comfort, performance and value for Kenyan motorists.
